Arya Pokhrel - Owner
Meet Arya Pokhrel, the owner of Wander + Wonder Kids Play Café! An Omaha native, Arya has called the area home since childhood and has spent years working in childcare as a nanny, babysitter, and caregiver. That hands-on experience inspired a passion for creating spaces where children feel safe, engaged, and encouraged to grow—while also giving parents a place to relax, connect, and feel supported.
With a degree in Psychology focused on Mental Health, along with certifications in child safety, CPR/First Aid, and abuse prevention, Arya brings both professional knowledge and a deep personal commitment to child development. Diagnosed with Crohn’s disease as a teen, Arya also carries a strong passion for advocacy and resilience—values that influence the way Wander + Wonder welcomes families of all kinds.
Arya dreamed of building a café that wasn’t just about coffee or play, but about community. Wander + Wonder is the realization of that dream: a space that blends imaginative playhouses, safe play areas, and a modern café, creating an environment filled with warmth, creativity, and joy. Arya’s heart for children, families, and meaningful connections shines through in every detail—making Wander + Wonder a place where families can truly gather, grow, and thrive together!
Brooke Peterson: Tiny Dancers Program Coordinator
Brooke leads our Tiny Dancers: Music & Movement program at Wander + Wonder Kids Play Café, bringing rhythm, energy, and creativity to little ones ages 18 months to 4 years. With four national dance championships—two in high school and two during her collegiate career at UNO—Brooke now coaches at No Limits Dance and teaches students from elementary through high school. Alongside her dance background, Brooke has years of experience babysitting and working with young children, making her a natural fit for programs that blend play, learning, and joy. She can’t wait to share her love of music and movement with your little ones, and we’re thrilled to have her on our team!
Allison Blum: Barista & Play Session Supervisor
My name is Allison Blum! I was born and raised in Wahoo, Nebraska, where I developed a strong foundation in community, family, and service. I continued my education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, earning my degree in Speech Pathology. During my time at UNK, I discovered a deep passion for helping others grow, communicate, and feel understood.
After graduating, I spent four years serving as a Christian Missionary on college campuses across Kansas and Nebraska. This experience strengthened my heart for mentorship, emotional support, and intentional relational work, qualities that have shaped both my personal and professional path. I am now taking the next step in my career by applying to graduate school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I hope to combine my background in communication, service, and advocacy to support individuals and families.
As the third oldest of seven children, nurturing and caring for others has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve been babysitting for as long as I can remember, and working with children continues to be one of my greatest joys.
My favorite part of working at Wander + Wonder Kids Play Café is witnessing the beauty of a child’s imagination come to life! The joy, creativity, and freedom that play brings. Getting to support families in such a warm, safe, and engaging environment is truly a gift.
